| Rabat and Beijing Determined to Settle Down Textile Issue |

Mr. Mustapha Mechachouri, Minister for Foreign Trade of Morocco, stressed at the seminar of Casanova Entrepreneurs Association that both China and Morocco decided to seek for an appropriate method to settle down the issue of China's exports to Morocco especially exports of textiles and porcelain through negotiation and dialogue, Yu Guangzhou, Vice Minister of Commerce of China, led a delegation to take part in the Seminar. Concerning the negative impact of Chinese export commodities on the economy of Morocco, Mechachouri hoped to create an environment of mutual understanding and joint negotiation, he said that Chinese delegation was very much concerned about it and earnestly heard of the suggestions.
Chinese ambassador to Morocco participated the Seminar. Mr. Mustapha Mechachouri expressed his wish of developing the cooperation partnership among Morocco, China and EU, believing that the Seminar cleared many issues under the framework of dialogue and put forward the suitable methods of solving existent problems.
Mr. Yu Guangzhou said that China highly emphasized the friendship between China and Morocco and bilateral trade and economic cooperation, advocated to take opening and fair policies to solve trade issues between the two countries. He hoped Morocco enterprises to establish partnership in China and paid his attention to the concerned issues by people in economic community in Morocco who faced with difficulties, meanwhile, said that he would give support and assistance to enhance the fruitful cooperation relations in many fields between the two countries and encouraged trade liberalization and the simplification of political procedures.
The Vice Minister stressed that both China and Morocco would abide by regulations together, suggested to expand the cooperation to the areas of phosphate and products and fishing. He affirmed that in order to guarantee the economic benefit of Morocco, China has taken a series of measures and ways to limit exports of some commodities to Morocco.
Vice-Chairman of the Association said that the meeting created a cooperative atmosphere, contributing to the putting forward of concerned issues by chambers of commerce of some industries.
Bilateral trade between China and Morocco increased obviously in recent years, in 2004, Morocco's imports from China amounted to 6.613 Dirham, and 4.656 Dirham in 2003. But its exports to China reached 441 Dirham in 2004 and 631 Dirham in 2003.
